About the Band

In late 2019, the Reyes brothers, Roy, Terry and Reggie, along with their musical brother, Sal Cruz, came together to form the band, Soul Kool. Their intention was to create the most versatile dance band on the Central Coast. The ability to employ 9 genres with only a drum click and without the use of any MIDI files or backing tracks. Their sound and music is authentic in all the genres. It’s evidence as to why their popularity has grown so quickly, and it is why they are in such demand. Soul Kool has no boundaries. They have and will continue to perform throughout five different California counties, in every venue imaginable, yet their popularity continues to increase daily like no other local, Central Coast band. Their experience, throughout the years, playing for fans and followers or as they call them ‘Krowds’ of 10,000 to 40,000 screaming fans while supporting the likes of Blues Grammy nominee and winner Charle Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Robin Trower along with Latin rock legends, Thee Midniters, Malo, Tierra those experiences, helped foster their musical knowledge and grow their versatility.

You’ll never know at a Soul Kool performance who may join ‘the boys’ on stage, it may just surprise you. Recently sharing the stage were friends and neighbors Jerry Salas from El Chicano, Marcos Reyes of War, Rudy Paris of Season 3 of The Voice and Jim Ranger of Season 19 of The Voice, or joining them on stage it could be any local talented musician, because there are no egos in these talented four musicians. Jerry Salas and Rudy Paris seeing Soul Kool for the first time said it like it was… they could not believe their ears and eyes that only four talented musicians could produce such an incredible live sound without the use of backing tracks or MIDI files – just the use of a simple drum machine and our instruments. Those compliments are from two musicians typically play in a large 7 to 9-piece bands. Thank You!

Soul Kool’s music can and will accommodate any outdoor events, corporate functions, Weddings, special events, our music is suited or can be customized for your needs for that special occasion. We have added and now offer an acoustic version of our music in 2023, it’s the same great music that you can enjoy listening to while drinking a glass of wine at your local winery.
